The grounds of SRJC were filled with anticipation as the students gathered in the hall for the release of the 2001 GCE A Level results on the afternoon of 6 March 2002.

The patience of our students was amply awarded when our principal, Miss Jenny Yong, proudly announced that SRJC had performed much better than expected, garnering 100% passes in 5 subjects, and a big jump in the number of students obtaining 3 A's & 2AO's, from 59.3 per cent in 2000 to 70.5 per cent in 2001. The most talked about improvement in this year's 'A' Level results. In addition, our top student, Wang Huanjie 01/2S01, did us proud by scoring a total of 7A's including a B4 for his General Paper. When interviewed, the most modest full time NS-man said he was pleasantly surprised at his achievements and attributed his success to sheer hard work and the dedication of his tutors. Huanjie plans to apply for scholarships to do a science degree.

Other stories of success included that of Sean from 2S21 who was surprised at his scores of 3A's. His advice to all SRJCians was to always be well prepared for tutorials ahead of time and be consistent where studies are concerned. Our heartiest congratulations to all students who achieved their goals!
