An Interview With Mrs Tan, Our New Vice-Principal
Mrs Tan Lay Hong, our new Vice-Principal, joined us last December. Before this, she had been at the Ministry of Education Headquarters for two years. When asked for her impressions of our College, she was full of praise for the care and concern shown by the teachers for the students, and the many special programmes in the College that aim to develop our students' character besides boosting their academic performance.
She added that students should utilize fully their two years in this college not just to gain entry to the university, but also to widen the scope of their future. Hence it was important for them to develop divergent, and not only convergent, thinking.
Asked about the challenges she faced as a vice-principal, Mrs Tan said that she hoped to work closely with the Principal and the teachers to realize the school's motto and values in order to yield 'thinking' students.
Lastly, her message for the students is: "Set realistic targets and work hard to achieve them."
