A seminar was held
for parents of JC 1 freshmen on 8 March 2006
(Wednesday). This seminar sought to provide parents
with an insight of the programme offered as well as
the culture and values of the College. It was
well-supported by parents as there was an
overwhelming turnout in Lecture Theatre 5.
The event started with a guided tour of the College,
followed by the Principal’s address. In her address,
Mrs Kok spoke about the rigorous demands of the new
GCE ‘A’ level syllabus and the various programmes of
the College. During the interaction session with
teachers, many parents said they were impressed with
the comprehensive programme that covers academic
pursuits, sports as well as community involvement.
They indicated that they no longer had any
reservations about having their child study in the
College as they are assured of a team of caring and
dedicated teachers who put their children’s interest
as the first priority. The mood was indeed a very
positive one, and parents went away feeling assured
that their child would be able to benefit from a
well-rounded education with the College.
