Sands of Mission, Building Singapore's Longest Sandcastle.

SRJC, in line with its college motto of "To Learn, To serve" has embarked on a major fund-raising exercise entitled Sands of Mission.

Sands of Mission seeks to raise a sum of 50,000 dollars for the Tan  Tock Seng  Hospital Community Charity Fund. The fund assists needy patients who have exhausted all other  avenues of help  with their medical expenses. Sands of Mission will see a five-month fund-raising effort  culminate in a  groundbreaking event that epitomises the extraordinary impact that like-minded individuals  could have when  united.

On 8 August 2006, SRJC will build the longest sandcastle in Singapore at East Coast  Park as part of  SRJC's National Day Celebrations. Students will be reminded amidst the sun, sand and sea, of  how they could  each play their part in caring for the less fortunate in Singapore. Team Excellence Camp 2006

We call those blessed with marriage husbands or wives. We call those blessed with parents, sons or daughters. What then do we call those who have been blessed with friends? In SRJC, it is safe to call them 'TEC participants', for the bridging of hearts and minds was what exactly Team Excellence Camp (TEC) 2006 did for 736 JC1s.

JC2 Parents? Day

The 2006 JC2 Parents? Day was held on 4 March (Saturday). It aimed to provide an opportunity for collaboration with our partners in education ? the parents of JC2 students.

Parents were updated on the JC2 students? performance in the JC2 Common Test 1 and the upcoming preparations. Parents gave the feedback that they found the session beneficial as they learnt more about how the college planned to help their child prepare for the GCE ?A? Level Examination. More importantly, they were now more familiar with the requirements for local university admission.

The session ended with classroom interaction between parents and Civics Tutors / Subject Tutors in which parents discussed more details about their child?s progress and how they could be an engaged partner to help their child.
